Elizabeth Maxwell

Dear Pirate Nurses and Pirate Nurse Friends,

The devotion of College of Nursing faculty is only one of the college's many hallmarks of distinction. There is a reason that no other place in NC prepares more new nurses nor has higher NCLEX scores!

As the liaison between alumni and this college, I can connect you with the appropriate person on campus. We need your ongoing involvement with the College of Nursing and want to make that as easy as possible.

Despite ECU Nursing alumni loving and valuing their education here, that hasn't translated into alumni giving to CON. During the 2017 fiscal year, of the 10,000 living College of Nursing alumni, alumni giving was 5 percent, equaling just under $74,000. You can change that trend. Make an online gift now and encourage other Pirate Nurses to do likewise!

There are seven College of Nursing funds from which to choose! Your gift choice helps a future nurse, trains tomorrow's nurse leader, improves patient health through research, assists with global experiences and so much more.

Then throughout the year, to honor or memorialize someone, choose a gift from a College of Nursing Annual Fund! At the bottom of this page under Additional Options, specify the recipient's name and address so notification of your gift (not its amount) is made on your behalf. How simple is that?

Please let me know if you'd like to learn about endowed gifts. They can be made now with cash over time, via an unneeded life insurance policy, appreciated stock, IRA Rollovers, or later through your will.

New Endowments:

  • Carol Fleming Irons Nursing Honors Program Endowment
  • Nicole and “Izzy” King Nurse Practitioner Scholarship
  • Pansy L. and Vernon L. Vinyard Faculty Support Travel Endowment
  • Linda Winton Pynn Nurse Practitioner Scholarship
  • Mary Lou S. Fisher Scholarship
  • Oscar and Jessie Webb Endowment

  • The Robert K. Hunter Family Scholarship
  • Dotty Bennett Harrell Scholarship
  • John “Jack” and Margaret “Maggie” Bagg Scholarship
  • J. Russell and Linda Fleming Scholarship
  • Louise V. Ish Midwifery Scholarship

Whether you are a Pirate Nurse or a College of Nursing Friend (non-alumni appreciative of the skilled care you received from a Pirate Nurse), I look forward to meeting you on campus, in your home, or at your place of work.

Thank you for sharing your treasure with ECU's College of Nursing to help us continue producing the most prepared nurses.

Sincerely,

G. Elizabeth Maxwell, Director of Development
