Anne Huitt O’Hara: DNP Spotlight
Hailing from Wilson, NC, Anne Huitt O'Hara joined the DNP program the Fall of 2015. She previously earned a BA in Psychology from UNC-Chapel Hill, an ADN from Wilson Community College, and a BSN from ECU. Anne has worked at Wilson Medical Center as a staff nurse in their Clinical Resource Unit/Float Pool for seven years. Her duties include working on the Medical-Surgical units, Telemetry unit, and Intensive Care Unit. Anne also works as a bed placement specialist and an admission and discharge nurse.
Anne has received recognition for her DNP group project at the DNP Symposium in November 2017 and at the Quality Improvement Symposium at ECU in January 2018. She also expects to achieve her FNP-BC in May of 2018. Anne Huitt is also a member of the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the North Carolina Nurses Association (NCNA.)
When not working or studying, Anne enjoys spending time with her family and socializing with her friends. Anne is married to her husband of 5 years, Kevin. They have two dogs, Bailey and Paxton, and those who know her know how much she loves her “fur babies.” Anne and Kevin love taking their dogs for walks and going on vacation.
