Dr. Brittany Baker, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, CNE
Dr. Brittany Baker, DNP, MSN, FNP-C, CNE joined East Carolina University College of Nursing in August 2021 as a clinical assistant professor in the AGPCNP/FNP-DNP concentration. She received her BSN from Bowie State University (2008) and graduated from Duke University with her MSN-FNP (2012). She completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at ECU in December 2018.
Dr. Baker started as an RN at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC, where she worked on a post-surgical unit. She then transitioned to retail health in 2012, where she began her practice as a family nurse practitioner also providing primary care services across the life span in a variety of settings, to include retail, outpatient, and occupational health settings.
Dr. Baker became a full-time nurse educator in 2016 and simultaneously began practicing in outpatient primary care at that time. Her most recent faculty practice is at Premise Health, where she provides primary care services to adult clients in an occupational health clinic. Her clinical interests continue to be comprehensive primary care services, with a particular focus on health promotion, immunizations, and mitigating health disparities.
Dr. Baker currently lives in Garner, NC with her husband, Terrence, daughter, Kamryn, and will welcome another little girl in March 2022. She enjoys traveling, especially cruising, spending time with family and friends, and serving at church.
