Dr. Jennifer Perry, DNP, MSN, FNP-C
Dr. Jennifer Perry, DNP, RN, FNP-C joined East Carolina University College of Nursing in 2021 as a clinical assistant professor in the DNP concentration working to prepare future nurse practitioners (NP)—both family and adult-gero primary care NPs. A lifelong Pirate, she received her BA in Hispanic Studies (2001), MA in International Studies (2003), MSN-FNP (2014) and her DNP (2019), all from ECU. She also studied at the University of Sevilla (Spain) and Sojang University (Seoul, South Korea).
Professionally, Dr. Perry’s nursing career began as a RN in intensive care, then in the inpatient psychiatric and substance abuse settings. As an advanced practice nurse and Spanish speaker, she has extensive experience in the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting working with underserved populations and has taken part in medical missions (Nicaragua). Her research interests include community-based care and global health.
Living in Greenville, NC, Dr Peery is active in animal rescue and studies foreign languages in her free time. She has travelled widely (55 countries and counting) and awaits the post-pandemic days when she can dust off her passport.
