Marie Chery George: DNP Spotlight

Marie Chery George has been a dedicated and compassionate registered nurse for over 24 years. Inspired by the high-school graduation of her youngest child in 2020, she decided to embark on her career goal of earning a DNP degree. Her perseverance was exemplified during her DNP journey by her personal experience with her granddaughter Marliee, who bravely battled and survived Pediatric Cardiomyopathy and is now a thriving 4-year-old heart transplant recipient. Marie’s profound connection to serious illnesses and end-of-life care fuels her DNP project which aims to enhance initiating the conversation of these sensitive topics. Her future goal as a proud ECU DNP graduate is to become a palliative care consultant. Known for her ability to connect with individuals of all ages and backgrounds, understand life’s challenges and her profound empathy make her the ideal candidate to represent her peers as the BSN-DNP Class Representative
