Dara English: DNP Spotlight
I have been selected by our cohort as the BSN to DNP class representative. I am very honored, humbled, and excited to get started in this role with you. I am a Pirate Nurse in the AGNP Program and plan to graduate in May 2021. My husband and I have a 4-year-old son and a 13-year-old cat, we live in Greenville, and I have been a nurse for 8 years. We love ECU football, traveling, and trying new/unique foods and restaurants. Thank you for this opportunity to serve as your representative. Our cohort has certainly seen some very trying and stressful situations, from hurricanes and floods to the COVID-19 situation we are currently navigating, and I am so very proud of how we have all handled our obligations. Hats off to you all! In light of the already rigorous course loads we have, added to each individual’s home and work stressors, we have been resilient, and I know we will continue on the path toward our goals!
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any concerns or thoughts you would like to share. My goal is to develop cohesiveness in our cohort, after all, no one can understand what we experience in this process better than each other, and we need to feel a sense of family and community among one another. I hope to also be an effective liaison between our class and the faculty as we progress through our courses. I would like to point out that this is not the place to solely express personal grievances or complaints about individual assignments or faculty, but to work collaboratively to continue to improve and enjoy our experiences in the program.
