Professional Development
For approximately 65 years, the ECU College of Nursing has been a leader in nursing education, practice, and research in our region and beyond. Our mission is to “serve as a national model for transforming the health of rural underserved regions through excellence and innovation in nursing education, leadership, research, scholarship, and practice. To meet our mission, we must ensure our faculty and staff have the tools necessary to do so. As such, whether it is our robust welcome and orientation program, professional development offerings, or faculty support initiatives, we are committed to investing into the professional success of those who serve our students (our most valuable stakeholders), which are our faculty and staff.

Faculty & Student Support Awards
The ECU College of Nursing is lucky to have several Pirate Alumni or their family who continue to support our college, including financial support. Through the tireless efforts of the ECU Health Foundation, Inc., under the leadership of Glenn Elizabeth Maxwell, Senior, Director of Development, our college has received funding to support faculty development and student support. The Office of Culture, Engagement, and Professional Development works alongside the various departments within the college to provide faculty and student support awards to deserving individuals. The opportunities listed below are currently available to our faculty and students. Students and faculty interested in receiving an award are encouraged to review each award and its requirements.
