A Message from the East Carolina University Department for People Operations, Success, and Opportunity (POSO) – Equal Opportunity and Title IX Office:

East Carolina University has systems in place to receive and review concerns of discrimination and harassment, as well as concerns of retaliation for filing a report or participating in these processes. The Equal Opportunity and Title IX office in the Department for People Operations, Success, and Opportunity (POSO) handles concerns regarding the protected classes of disability, sexual orientation, race/ethnicity, age, sex, gender identity, color, veteran status, genetic information, political affiliation, national origin, and religion. The POSO Equal Opportunity and Title IX office also handles reports of sexual assault, sexual harassment, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. Please complete the Equal Opportunity and Title IX Concerns and Complaints Form.

If you feel that you have been harassed or discriminated against based on one of the University’s protected classes, subjected to sexual harassment, or retaliated against related to a reported protected class concern, you may fill out the reporting form below. You may also email us, call us at 252-328-6804, or visit us at G-502 in the Old Cafeteria Building to discuss your concern. Our online reporting form, voice messaging system, and email is available 24-hours a day, 7-days a week.

Once you submit the Equality Opportunity and Title IX Concerns and Complaints Form, a member of POSO will contact you to discuss the options and resources available through the University. Please note that if you submit this form anonymously, it may limit the University’s ability address your concern.

Other Concerns?

If your concern does not align with any of the categories outlined above, please provide details in the section below

ECU College of Nursing faculty, staff, and students are strongly encouraged to abide by established university policy and to utilize the proper chain of command when voicing a complaint, such as through the student’s instructor, a faculty member’s Department Chair, or a staff member’s immediate supervisor. Please note that academic and course-related concerns (such as grade complaints) must be addressed through the appropriate university policies and procedures. The ECU College of Nursing’s Office of Engagement and Professional Development serves as a neutral entity whereby faculty, staff, and students may express a concern if they are uncomfortable using the proper chain of command. In this instance, please complete the form below and the Office of Engagement and Professional Development will serve as a facilitator to assist you in having your voice heard.

While identifying information such as name and email address is not required to submit comments, including this information will allow the Office of Engagement and Professional Development to respond to your comment or concern directly.
