Family Nurse Practitioner Student Kelly Blackmon

Kelly Blackmon is currently in the DNP Family Nurse Practitioner degree pathway with an expected graduation date July 2023. Blackmon received a BSN from East Carolina University in 2003.Earned MSN, M.Ed. from Phoenix, AZ in 2009.
Professionally licensed registered nurse in North Carolina with nineteen years of clinical experience and thirteen years in an educator’s role. Extensive knowledge of various areas in nursing, including critical care, medical, surgical, telemetry, emergency, maternal child, leadership, research, and pathophysiology.
Blackmon is a professional nurse with high standards of integrity, excellence in communication, and passion for the profession of nursing and rural healthcare; experienced with complex patient situations. Her research interests include occupational wellness for rural farmers, improving health literacy for chronic disease management, and increasing access to care with alternative healthcare delivery models.
Blackmon also desires to bring a positive impact to rural health in southeastern NC, within the farming communities.
