Pirate Nurse 5K
The ECU College of Nursing’s annual, certified 5K race draws runners from around the state each Spring to compete on our certified 5K course that traverses ECU’s beautiful Health Sciences campus. Proceeds benefit nursing student scholarships awarded to all students during our annual scholarship ceremony.
Race in-person or virtually — your choice!
The virtual Pirate Nurse 5K will take place March 25-April 8th, 2023, at any 5K course or location of your choosing, and will be followed on April 15th with our traditional, in-person 5K option on the ECU Health Sciences Campus.
There will be separate prizes for the virtual and in-person races.
About the Pirate Nurse 5K
The Pirate Nurse 5K has become a popular legacy event for current students, and a welcomed opportunity for sponsors to show their support for nursing students. It’s also an opportunity for alumni to re-connect with the College of Nursing and show their support for future Pirate Nurses. In concert with nursing culture, the charitable aspect of the event is integral to the ideal of service, one of the hallmarks of nursing education at the ECU College of Nursing.
